When a client has a pre-existing condition, or has suffered a serious illness in the past, the first thing we do is pick up the phone. We speak to Underwriters at many of the UK’s leading Insurance companies. Discussing all of our client’s medical history helps us to identify the best company to apply to. This also means we avoid applying to companies who will end up being too expensive or worse, decline an application. By completing our research thoroughly, we are able to avoid wasting time and obtain the best terms possible for our clients.Call me back
Our client a 27 year old lady, was looking for life insurance and critical illness cover to provide financial protection for her mortgage in the event of her death or being diagnosed with a critical illness.
She informed us that she has ongoing depression with suicidal thoughts on a regular basis and that she often sees a psychiatrist. Recently, she took time off work due to her depression. However, it is important to note that whilst our client has had suicidal thoughts and episodes of suicidal idealisation, she has never actually planned or attempted suicide or self harm.
Most insurers would not be able to offer life insurance due to the recent and ongoing thoughts, however one company was able to offer life and critical illness cover with a 100% increase. Had she planned or attempted suicide within the last year then the outcome would have been different. Therefore our client was able to arrange £150,000 of decreasing life cover and £20,000 life and critical illness cover for less than £20 per month.
Please note that any premiums mentioned are indicative only and based on this specific case study/ example, which is shown for information purposes only. Your own circumstances will determine whether the amount payable is more or less than the figure quoted.

An on-line quote is just that – a quote – it isn’t a definite offer of cover. What really matters is the premium you are offered, after your application has been assessed.
