How Many Claims Were Paid By Cirencester Friendly in 2019?
Specialist mutual income protection insurance provider Cirencester Friendly has released figures stating that membership numbers have increased to over 42,000.
2019 saw 95.7% of all Cirencester Friendly claims paid
The claims paid showed an increase compared to those in 2018 which showed that 95.2% of claims were paid out to customers.
Significantly, the most common reason behind making a claim was accident or injury, which accounted for 43.5% of claim applications. Some other claims listed included depression, cancer, heart or circulatory complications as well as back, neck and shoulder problems.
Paul Hudson, Chief Executive at Cirencester Friendly says “We are proud to provide exceptional support to our members and advisers. Through our high claims paid ratio, bonuses and growing additional benefits including Children’s Critical Illness Support.
Last year saw a new member benefit – Children’s Critical Illness Support. This provides a lump sum of £2,500 if a member’s child is diagnosed with one of ten listed critical illnesses.
There has always been a strong belief amongst consumers that illness or injury simply won’t happen to them, and If it does, the Government would provide sufficient financial support. This is sadly misguided, and we seek to dispel this myth.
Likewise, consumers appear to broadly believe that insurance companies do not pay claims. The publication of Claims Statistics demonstrates our commitment to our Members when they need us most.
