Arranging Critical Illness after recovering from renal failure
We often find people wrongly assume that if they have previously being diagnosed with a serious medical condition, then this can make finding life insurance cover impossible, let alone arranging Critical Illness Cover.
We were approached by a client who wanted Critical Illness Cover over as long a term as possible, as well as additional Life Insurance to provide some enhanced family protection.
When discussing her medical history, she mentioned previous renal failure which was mild, however, she did not require dialysis nor organ replacement and there were no sinister or chronic underlying causes.

The outcome of arranging critical illness with renal failure
We helped our client complete an application, and the insurer obtained a report from her GP, but unfortunately, her application was declined. However, we felt this was a harsh decision given her medical history and successfully challenged it.
Our client now has cover in place, providing her with £20,000 Critical illness cover, including life cover, until she reaches the age of 70, for a monthly premium of £24.91 (increased from her original quote of £22.06).
