7 Families – Meet the Thornley Family and watch their true story
In 2013 Nikki’s husband turned 40, and they decided to head off around Europe child-free for a couple of weeks on two motorbikes to celebrate. Unfortunately, they never made it out of Scotland. Nikki was paralysed in a motorcycle accident that has left her unable to work since.
7 Families is a charity led campaign to raise public awareness of the financial impact of long-term illness or disability
Their aim is to highlight the need for people to plan ahead financially in case they become too ill to earn an income. The charity Disability Rights UK are working with seven families where the main breadwinner has been forced out of work by an accident or illness and has not received any related insurance payout.
The campaign is run to provide a tax-free income for one year to seven people who have lost their income because of a serious or long-term illness or disability.
The campaign has three aims
- Raise public awareness of the financial impact of long term illness or disability
- Help ‘7’ real families who are facing financial meltdown
- Demonstrate the value of independent living support, rehabilitation and counselling, through trying to help get people back to work
Ever wondered about what the outcome would be if something happened to prevent you from working?….. A sudden accident or a serious health problem? Are you financially invincible?
Whilst you are welcome to get a quote online, we would recommend you speak to one of our advisers.
Any quote that your adviser provides you with will take into account your circumstances and medical history, as well as your budget!
An online quote is just that – a quote – it isn’t a definite offer of cover. What really matters is the premium you are offered, after your application has been assessed.
